Anguilla

There is no surprise that anyone would want to explore the possibility of buying a property in the beauty and majestic island of Anguilla. With a population of merely 14,000 in 2006, this small but charming land has many sights and pleasures to offer. But since this country is hardly as popular as the other Caribbean islands, Anguilla is not as developed as Puerto Rico or Haiti. Still, perhaps exactly because of this, Anguilla remains to more a charm, perhaps because of its seemingly virgin beauty. Although indeed touched by men, Anguilla still has the beauty that exceeds of any developed islands you have ever seen. And while all Caribbean property are indeed beautiful and worth every penny, Anguilla almost has a mystical charm to it.

In general, Anguilla property would probably cost around 200 to 225 dollars per square foot. Of course, this does not include other expenses. However, it should be noted that foreigners are only allowed to buy half an acre of land if you plan to buy Caribbean property for sale in Anguilla. This is true if you plan to buy a villa by the beach of Anguilla. The restriction exists because the government is reserving the property for the purpose of tourism. Still, as long as buyers of Caribbean property in this country follow the restriction, it would be perfectly alright.

However, there are more restrictions for building beachside villas in Anguilla; not that the property here is not worth it. Once the buyers of the Caribbean property has acquired the license, he or she must complete the construction of the property within one and a half year. Otherwise, the buyer will have to pay EC$500 a month as penalty during the first year and double that for the next six months. After 18 months, the property can actually be transferred to the Anguillan government.  

The license itself requires following a tedious process before one can acquire it—and this is especially true if the buyer is a foreigner.

Why is the country strict regarding this matter? Simple: because the government is trying to preserve the beauty of this simply immaculate country. Anguilla is a prime Caribbean property spot that should not be taken for granted at all. Thanks to the country’s amazing beauty, property in Anguillan is definitely well worth its price. If you can buy Caribbean property in Anguillan, you must not let the opportunity pass.
